VIEWING GOOGLE EARTH TRAILS WITH VR HEADSETS.

I have loved 360 Google Earth Trails, but they are 100 times better with a VR Headset.  I started with just a cheap pair of Google Cardboard ones, but a little bit more expensive one with a remote brings  the trail to life!  It is like you are really there.  YOU HAVE GOT TO TRY IT.  You can get a decent pair for only 30 bucks, or spend $100 on a nice pair of Google Daydream ones (I think the best is the  the latest ones from the Google Store) that you can Chromecast what you are seeing in your VR HEADSET on the TV so others can be a part of what you are seeing.

HOW TO VIEW GOOGLE EARTH TRAILS ON A VR HEADSET.

Surprisingly, this is super simple.
First, Download the Streetview App on your phone.
Second,  Type in any area I have done a blog post on lately or any area that has a Google Earth Trail...Let's Try This one.  House on Fire via Mule Canyon, Utah, then click on any blue line.
Third, Grab your VR Googles, and set your phone inside the VR Googles.
Fourth, Use your remote to move through the area, and you are walking the trail and seeing it in 360 Degrees.

What a fabulous way to see an area you would love to see, but you can't get there for one reason or another!

TRAIL HEAD and INFORMATION for HOUSE ON FIRE via Mule Canyon Trail

Below is the trail head.  Hike is rated moderate but only has 68 feet elevation gain.  I think it would be rated as easy, but there are a few places where a large step is needed to cross river.  Hike is 1.9 miles round trip.  Here is an All Trails link to find current info on hike.

TO GET TO HOUSE ON FIRE via Mule Canyon

This area is close to the Bears Ears National Monument.  To get to it you go from Blanding Utah 191 to UT-95 N  then turn left on Elk Mountain Road and go on that road for about 25 miles.  I used a downloaded offline Google Map to get me there and my external GPS, and it took me there perfectly.
Here is another blog with more information to get here if you want more.

TREASURE BOX AT HOUSE ON FIRE

As I was coming down from viewing the Ruins, I saw a green rectangular box chained up to the tree.  There was no lock, so I was curious...what treasure is in this box.  It was a treasure trove of knowledge of this canyon the Petroglyphs in this canyon, and information about the people who used to live in this canyon.

Awesome Information about Petroglyphs to look for on the hike from the Box at the Ruins

If you like this area, I think you will also LOVE these Hikes

Spirit Arch(Double Arch) Petroglyph Canyon in the San Rafael Swell is also an old Native American Stopping Grounds. Beautiful hike with Arches and very detailed Petroglyph.
