There is a phrase that says, let your food be your medicine, so along those lines, I started searching for best foods to help your immune system.   Three of the items on that list were broccoli, garlic, and ginger, and I thought that's wonderful.  I can eat one of my favorite recipes to help my body get stronger and prepared to fight the diseases going around.

Here is the Simple Recipe, and all the health benefits of the ingredients are below.


If desired you can toast your sesame seeds in a pan at the beginning.  I sometimes so this and sometimes don't care to, but it you do, only slightly toast them, and watch them closely, for you don't want them to burn (so basically don't leave the stove).

Broccoli Stir Fry

Sesame seeds
1 bundle or pound of broccoli
1 head or bulb of garlic chopped fine
1/8-1/4 in of ginger root minced
1/2 c chicken stock
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon sesame oil


Cut the broccoli, and finely chopped the garlic and the ginger.

Put Garlic and Ginger in the center of the pan.  Pour 1-2 Tablespoons of oil on the Garlic and Ginger (It is recommended to use a high temperature oil like peanut oil, so you can avoid splattering.  I often get away with still using Olive oil, but I just have to be more careful if I do.)
Surround the Garlic and Ginger with the Broccoli and fry it for about 5 minutes, or until the broccoli is turning that dark green color.  

While the broccoli is cooking, make the sauce with the 1/2 c Chicken Broth, 1T Soy sauce, and 1/2 t sesame oil (Can do up to 1 T if you really like the flavor or sesame oil, but it is strong.)

When the broccoli is dark in color, add the sauce above, and cover to cook until the broccoli is fully cooked to your taste.

MAKE IT A WHOLE MEAL

You can easily make it a meal using one of these options:
1.
Add a can of Beef Chunks, Hoisin sauce, and Yoshida's sauce for an easy Need and broccoli and serve over Brown Rice for beat health benefits.
2.  Add chicken or beef meatballs and Yoshida's and serve over Brown Rice.

Ginger is said to be one on the lists that is most worthy of that name.  Ginger contains Gingerol which is a substance with powerful medicinal properties including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
