Information about Deer Creek Dam Trail

• The trail head is located in Provo canyon right before the Dam on the North side of the road.  I would put your blinker on early and let people behind you know you are turning so you don't cause an accident.  It is pretty easy to miss, so I always have to slow down when I get close to the dam so I don't miss it. 
• Trail goes from right before the dam for 8 miles all the way to Soldier Hollow near Midway, so if you want to be dropped off at the Dam, and then piked up in Midway that is an option.
• Trail has beautiful views of the the Deer Creek Reservoir, Timpanogas Mountain, and Cascade Mountain.  
• Trail is a very easy trail and is fine for all ages.  You just walk the distance you want to enjoy or can handle. 
• Trail is an old road but is not blocked off to motorized vehicles, so it can be only used by hikers, horse riders, and mountain bikers, but is wide enough since it is an old road to maintain social distancing.   
• Dogs are not allowed on the trail. 
• From the trail you can almost always see the old Train Tracks.  They used to house some old classic train cars that were fabulous to walk through and explore, but vandalism has moved them away, which is so sad, for now no one can enjoy them.  :(  The tracks are currently used for the Heber Creeper when it runs.  The Heber Creeper often runs special holiday events like a Polar Express night around Christmas and special creepy mystery Halloween ride.
