Catstair Canyon Paria Utah Stacked Cars to Make Freeway in 360 Degrees

PARIA UTAH STACKED CARS USED TO MAKE FREEWAY IN SLOT CANYON Just past the House Rock Valley Road along highway 89, there is a cool slot canyon that they used cars from the 1960's to fill in the gap in the highway. They stacked the cars, then covered it with dirt, then built the highway on top. If you look at the Google Earth image below, you can see the cars sticking out on the side of the road. Such a funny yet clever thing to do. You can't say people from Utah are not resourceful. VR Nature Vacation to Old Charcoal Kilns & Ranch in Montana Canyon Creek Old Charcoal Mines and Guest Ranch by Melrose Montana in 360 Degrees For your nature fix today, here are some old Charcoal Kilns on the road up to Canyon Creek Guest House close to Melrose Montana. These fascinating structures used to be tightly stacked to the top with logs, and then closed up and lite. The smoke turning from white to yellow to blue and would tell them how the process of infusing oxygen into the burnt wood was going. When complete, the wood would be charcoal pieces that were lighter to transport and burned hotter than wood. This was used for the mining town that used to be about 10 miles from these kilns. Fascinating spot. Thinking about these kilns, it is both the fire and the oxygen that transform the wood to something better. Bald Mountain Unitas in 360 Degrees

Bald Mountain WIldflowers 360 Adventure Hiking Bald Mountain, Utah Bald Mountain is one of my favorite hikes, but my return trip up this year gave this area a whole new perspective and reason to LOVE this trail even more. Bald mountain trail starts with a huge switch back, and you head to the very west or backside of Bald mountain, and then turn to go to the front or east side. Just after you turn to head back east, there is a field of speckled rocks and grass. It looks like something off a Scottish coastline. It you just carefully wander out into that field, and just find a comfortable piece of grass or rock, this spot is fascinating. I would suggest taking up a map that has mountain peaks and lakes labeled, and just sit there and try and identify all the peaks and lakes. There are at least 20 lakes, and 20 mountain peaks we could find and put names on. You are up over 11,300 feet, so you can see all the way from Mount Nebo, to all the Utah Valley Mountains, then

This VR 360 Nature Vacation is one of those wild rides. We start at HellsBackbone Bridge in the Death Box Hollow Wilderness in Utah for some beautiful cliff views and watch an epic storm roll in. It engulfed us, and we found ourselves surrounded with lightning, and an intense hail storm. We then head to a bePine Lake that is surrounded by gorgeous red cliffs and pink lily pad flowers. We move from there to the beautiful Upper Calf Creek Falls and see this beautiful waterfall from above and below, and then to Lake Barker in Dixie National Forest to catch a fish at a new lake making 40 different lakes we have caught at in our 100 lakes 100 fish goal. Millsite Reservoir Ferron Utah Millsite Resevoir Ferron Utah for Kayaking and Fishing Millsite Reservoir is a gorgeous reservoir, with such a beautiful scenic cliffs as a backdrop. It is a small lake, but is fun for fishing, kayaking, and is very enjoyable to walk around the perimeter. From the campground, it feels like this lake is not easy to walk around for you really sink in the mud there, but if you go down to the ATV area, and head west, you can walk at least half of the lake if not more. You just have to realize that the sand here is sometimes that sticky mud where your feet sink sink in, so walk the drier areas when the dirt feels like that, and enjoy the water when it is rockier.
